Jackson, who originated the role of George Washington in the popular 2015 musical "Hamilton," encouraged Zapata to approach history from the dramatic perspective of the people who lived through it. First Lady Michelle Obama organized the "Hamilton at the White House" event to encourage local high school students to learn about the arts. The event included a workshop, performances, and a question-and-answer session with original "Hamilton" cast members.
