This photograph by Keystone View Company shows President Calvin Coolidge writing at his desk in the Oval Office. Though many presidents have used the Resolute Desk as their work station in the Oval Office, this photograph shows that Coolidge did not. President Coolidge's desk was made by A. H. Davenport Co. of Boston for the 1902 construction of the first West Wing during the Theodore Roosevelt renovation. Originally used by President Roosevelt, the desk was also used by Presidents William H. Taft, Woodrow Wilson, and Warren G. Harding, in addition to Coolidge.
