The Clintons at the 1998 Cybercast of the White House Easter Egg Roll, Howard Lefkowitz Collection
This film footage was taken at the White House Easter Egg Roll on April 13, 1998. The 1998 Easter Egg Roll was the first to be cybercast over the internet. This film includes footage of President Bill Clinton and First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton appearing on the South Portico and speaking from a stage on the South Lawn. Additionally, there is footage of the Easter Egg Roll set up with the Washington Monument in the background, music from the United States Marine Band, and footage of the Easter egg roll race.
This film is part of the Howard Lefkowitz Collection. Lefkowitz served as vice president of business development and Internet marketing for EarthLink. In 1998, Lefkowitz developed and produced the first cybercast of the White House Easter Egg Roll. Working with the White House, EarthLink, and other technology partners, over 100 hours of film was recorded and simultaneously aired on the Internet live from the South Lawn of the White House. Lefkowitz would produce the cybercast from 1998 to 2000.
