This film features behind-the-scenes footage of the 1998 White House Easter Egg Roll cybercast. The film was likely taken in the two days leading up to the Easter Egg Roll, which was held on April 13, 1998. The film footage includes members of the EarthLink team setting up for the cybercast at their off site headquarters and on the South Lawn of the White House. An evening pre-event celebration on a Washington, D.C. rooftop is also captured. This film is part of the Howard Lefkowitz Collection. Lefkowitz served as vice president of business development and Internet marketing for EarthLink. In 1998, Lefkowitz developed and produced the first cybercast of the White House Easter Egg Roll. Working with the White House, EarthLink, and other technology partners, over 100 hours of film was recorded and simultaneously aired on the Internet live from the South Lawn of the White House. Lefkowitz would produce the cybercast from 1998 to 2000. This film may contain copyrighted materials and is therefore not available to stream. Johnson delivered the delivered his "Special Message to the Congress: The American Promise" speech, which urged the passage of the Voting Rights Act. The speech was broadcast nationwide.

The Eisenhower Executive Office Building is shown decorated with the flags of the United States of America and the French Republic in honor of a State Visit that day by President Emmanuel Macron of the French Republic. President Joseph R. Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden welcomed Macron and Brigitte Macron, spouse to the president of France, to the White House, starting off the State Visit with a State Arrival Ceremony on the South Lawn in the morning followed by a joint press conference with President Biden and Macron in the East Room, and, later that evening, a State Dinner. This was President Biden's first State Visit as president. Formerly known as the Old Executive Office Building, the Eisenhower Executive Office Building was renamed with legislation signed by President Bill Clinton in 1999 and with a rededication ceremony presided over by President George W. Bush in 2002. Commissioned by President Ulysses S. Grant and completed in 1888, the building was designed by Alfred Mullet in the Second Empire style, which is characterized by a sloping mansard roof and grand embellishments. Originally known as the State, War, and Navy Building, the building houses the offices of much of the president’s staff.

This engraving of the capture of Washington, D.C. during the War of 1812 was created by London printers J and J Cundee in 1815 and used as an illustration in an edition of Paul Rapin's multi-volume "History of England." British troops entered and burned the capital, including the White House, on August 24, 1814. Though British forces occupied the city for only a short time, they inflicted serious damage. President James Madison escaped the White House before the attack, but finished out his second term in the nearby Octagon House and a row house in "Six Buildings" complex on Pennsylvania while the White House was rebuilt.
