Preparations for the 1998 Cybercast of the White House Easter Egg Roll, Howard Lefkowitz Collection
This film features behind-the-scenes footage of the 1998 White House Easter Egg Roll cybercast. The film was likely taken in the two days leading up to the Easter Egg Roll, which was held on April 13, 1998. The film footage includes members of the EarthLink team setting up for the cybercast, groundskeepers mowing the South Lawn, discussions inside the production truck, and musician Art Garfunkel's rehearsal with his family, including wife Kim.
This film is part of the Howard Lefkowitz Collection. Lefkowitz served as vice president of business development and Internet marketing for EarthLink. In 1998, Lefkowitz developed and produced the first cybercast of the White House Easter Egg Roll. Working with the White House, EarthLink, and other technology partners, over 100 hours of film was recorded and simultaneously aired on the Internet live from the South Lawn of the White House. Lefkowitz would produce the cybercast from 1998 to 2000.
